Ms. Donna Michelle Benton, 58, of Forest Park, GA, left us to be with our Almighty King on June 6th, 2023.
Donna was born on April 2nd, 1965 to her father Donald J. Benton. Her father passed away shortly after she was born, at age 3, however, she always took the title of being daddy's little girl. Donna graduated from Forest Park High School in 1983 and then went on to study Cosmetology at the Beauty College of America also in Forest Park, GA. In year, 1986 she met Leroy Forts Jr., her partner of 20+ years where they brought 4 precious lives into the world, Doneisha L. Cisco(Forts), Leionna L. Forts, Aliyah D. Forts, and Josiah L. Forts.
Ms. Donna prided herself on being the most extraordinary mother to her children. She gave them the best life that she could and traveled through high waters to do so. In 2013, her life changed forever when she was met by her first grandchild, Zaiden. Since then she has gained four more grands, making her a Fat Fat (which is what the grands called her) of five! She would've given them the world on a silver platter if she could've. Donna was loving, protective, and so compassionate but oh was she a firecracker. She would tell you how it is and not think twice about it. That's what we all loved about her. She fought all of our battles for us. She stood on what she believed. She will be truly missed but we know she is forever in our hearts.
Donna is predeceased by her father Donald J. Benton; Aunts, who she called her mother, Mary E. Benton and Jennette Brown (Benton); and grandparents Alonzo & Lydia Benton.
Donna will live on in the hearts of her survived children Doneisha L. Cisco(Forts), Leionna L. Forts, Aliyah D. Forts, and Josiah L. Forts; grandchildren Zaiden A. Forts, Zariel A. Leggett, Zakai A. Leggett, Nevaeh A. Cisco, and Ezmri A. Leggett. Son in laws Joseph L. Cisco and Xsavier E. Leggett; sister Deborah L. Allen (Benton); niece Daesha M. Downey and nephew Travis J. Downey; and lifelong bestfriend, Monica J. Parrott.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 16, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Central Christian Church 6810 Skidaway Road Savannah GA. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Lionel Marmolejo officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
