Donna Berka Obituary
Born on December 21, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry Alvin and Bettie Jane Murphy Fehr.
Donna dedicated her life to the service and care of others, working as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Supervisor at Shadyside Care Center and Forest Hills Nursing Home, where she retired. She also worked for several years as an OR nurse at Bellaire Hospital. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to her patients left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of being in her care.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Donna's life was a testament to her deep faith and love for her family. She found joy in attending church and shared her passion and devotion by telling others about Jesus. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Donna had a zest for life. She loved singing, playing the piano, antique shopping and celebrating holidays with her family. She was also involved in the prison ministry for many years.
In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Emil Berka.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jeffrey (Sheila) Berka, Christopher (Tina Rutan) Berka, and Joshua (Ashley) Berka; brother, Gregory Alvin Fehr. Grandchildren; Ian Berka, Grace (Mitchel) Hoover, Joy (Elijah Smith) Berka, MaKenna (Dylan Marling) Berka, Kennedy Berka and Colton Berka. Great-granddaughter Lindie Hoover; other close family members Karen Prater, Gina Fehr and Brandon Fehr as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday October 10, 2024 from 3pm until 7pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside Ohio 43947. Visitation will resume on Friday October 11, 2024 from 9am until time of celebration of life at 11am with Pastor Terry Endsley officiating. Donna will be laid to rest next to her husband, Emil, in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point Ohio.
Donna leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and faith. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
