Donna J. Busche

September 16, 1944 – August 18, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donna J. Busche, who left this world on August 18, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on September 16, 1944, Donna was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and dear friend whose kindness, creativity, and joy touched countless lives.

On April 27, 1963, Donna married the love of her life, the late Harvey H. Busche Jr., in Des Plaines, Illinois. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, hard work, and love. Donna's life was rich with creativity and compassion. She poured her talents into her drapery business, delighted in singing with the Sweet Adelines, and opened her heart and home to friends and neighbors. Known affectionately as the "neighborhood mom," she was happiest surrounded by laughter, especially while watching children play and swim along the Fox River.

Family was always at the center of Donna's world. A dedicated mother of four, she instilled in her children the values of resilience, strength, and love. She was endlessly proud of the family she raised and cherished every moment spent with them.

Professionally, Donna was admired for her dedication and versatility. She worked alongside her husband in the family-owned Truckmotive business, later served as Branch Manager at McHenry Savings Bank in Richmond and finished her career as a legal secretary at Motorola, where her attention to detail and work ethic left a lasting impression.

Outside of work, Donna loved entertaining family and friends, tending to her gardens, boating, and relaxing by the water at sunset-a place where she found both peace and joy.

Donna will be deeply missed by her children: Lisa Polit, Kim (Jeff) Meier, Renee (Dennis) Trojan, and Todd (Jennifer) Busche; her grandchildren: Steve Polit, Michelle Polit, Kayti Polit, Eric (Dakota) Meier, Tanya (Danny) McDonough, Sierra Trojan (Alex Hietpas), Jason Trojan, Kayla Busche, Emily Busche, and Madelyn Busche; and her great-grandchildren: Noah, Cyrus, Chloe, Reese, Rhett, Tyler, and Dalila. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey, and her parents, Alvin and Helen (Frisch) Murphy.

Family and friends are invited to honor Donna's memory at a Visitation on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home in McHenry, Illinois, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a prayer service at 12:30 PM. Interment will be private for family and close friends.

Donna's love, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
