Donna Carvin Obituary

Donna Jean Veitch Carvin, 96, of Hot Springs, AR, passed away peacefully, on April 15, 2025, at the Pines Nursing Home. She was born on April 6, 1929, in New Kensington, PA. Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Carvin; her son, Dennis Carvin; her parents, Harry and Rebecca Brumbaugh Veitch; and her aunt, Sarah Gorney, who lovingly raised her. She also mourned the loss of her stepmother, Olga Chine Veitch; and her brothers, Harry and James Veitch. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Carvin; brother, John Chine of Donaldson; granddaughter, Renee Hamby (Michael); and great-grandchildren, Morgan and Austin of Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Megyn Bell of California; grandson, Caelan Carvin (Billie); and great-grandchildren, Cambryn and Caelah of Hot Springs; bonus grandson, Jacob (Anber); and great-great-grandson, Landon of Virginia; as well as Donna's extended family across Pennsylvania, California, Delaware, and Tennessee, who held a special place in her heart. A vibrant spirit, Donna cherished her time with "The Guys and Gals Birthday Club" and enjoyed the many restaurants they frequented. She found great joy in playing cards with friends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and companionship. The family wishes to acknowledge some of Donna's dear friends, Aurica Planton, Mary Sue Smallwood, Louise Jinks, Jean Pastorek, Thearlene Morris, Mari Stephenson, the Muzy family, Diane Northern, Markie Vanschenck , and the wonderful ladies of the Women's Welcome Club. The family offers special gratitude to Pastor Gail Brooks, Dr. William Cole, and the compassionate staff at the Pines Nursing Facility, particularly Julie Lawhorn and the nursing staff, whose kindness and care brought comfort to Donna in her final months. A celebration of life will be officiated by Pastor Gail Brooks at 3 p.m. on May 10, 2025, at Oaklawn Methodist Church, located at 126 Higdon Ferry Road, Hot Springs, AR 71913. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Oaklawn Memorial Fund or the Women's Welcome Club, C/O Donna Oakleaf, 111 Talmadge Place, Hot Springs, AR 71913, in support of the nurse's scholarship fund. online condolences at www.caruth-hale.com.
