Donna Kay "Red" "Mamaw" Chambers, age 64, of Roan Mountain, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at her home. Donna was born in Carter County, Tennessee on June 20, 1961 to the late George Brownlow Baker and Mary Lillie Lyons Baker. In addition to her parents, Donna was also preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Stout.
Donna retired as an LPN at the Waters of Roan Highlands and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Those left to cherish Donna's memory include her husband, Ward Chambers of the home; two sons, George Chambers and wife Nancy of Elizabethton and John Chambers of Roan Mountain; three grandchildren, Christian Chambers and wife Stevie, Savannah Chambers and Evvie Sherrill; several step grandchildren; one great granddaughter, Everly Chambers; and several step great grandchildren; her siblings, Patricia Bennett and husband Troy, Linda Cole, George Baker and wife Karen, Freddie Baker, and Scarlet Lopez and husband Josh; her step sisters, Barbara Baker and Rosalie Hargreeves and husband Jay, Diana Buckles and husband Allen; her special niece, Bella Baker; her special nephew, Sebastian Baker; and her special pet, Minnie. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Donna Kay "Red" "Mamaw" Chambers will be conducted at 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 7, 2025 in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain with Reverend Bill Highsmith and Mr. Robert Stout officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Sunday.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice, especially Julie, Linda, Penny and Anna for their loving and compassionate care shown to Donna during her illness. Also a special thanks to Bonnie Arnett, Charlotte Wandrie and Karen Baker.
