Taylor Funeral Home Louisville announces the death & funeral services of Mrs. Donna Bowles Clements, who was born on May 13, 1957, in Louisville, GA and passed suddenly on Friday, March 14th 2025.
The family will receive visitors at Taylor Funeral Homes at 401 West 8th Street, Louisville, GA 30434 on Monday, March 17 from 10 to 11am. Service to immediately follow in the chapel. Pallbearers will be Mason Clements, John Gordy, Bill Godowns, Cole Godowns, Bert Clements, and Mark Bowles.
A native of Louisville, Donna was the daughter of the late Luther Job Bowles, Jr., and the late Sarah Gordy Bowles. Donna attended Louisville Academy, and Middle Georgia College in Cochran where she met her beloved late husband, Mason Carter Clements, Jr.
Donna was a model of Southern ladyhood. She was a true matriarch, and her family was her greatest love. She was nurturing, supportive, and very wise in counsel. Indeed, everywhere she went she was the glue that held things together. The very stitching in the social fabric of her family and of her workplaces. She always ordered the environment around her and made it immaculately clean and beautiful. She enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, and nature. Professionally, she was a spoiler of her grandsons, but also, she had a nearly 45-year career in the medical field in Atlanta, and there too she stitched together the social fabric of those spaces, acting as a loving mother, a wise sounding board and a stern mediator. After her retirement and the passing of her husband Carter, she moved back to her hometown of Louisville, GA. There, she found joy in making her beautiful home, in learning at the garden club, in volunteering, working at the polls, and whatever else she could do to keep moving and put her loving influence on the world around her. It was apparent to everyone how happy she was to again be living close to her beloved brother Sonny, where they were able to enjoy one another's company and support.Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Mason Carter Clements, Jr.; her parents, Mr. Luther Job (Sarah Gordy) Bowles Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Mr. Luther Job (Mildred Johnson) Bowles, Sr.; her maternal grandparents, Mr. Wallace Henry (Nannie Muns) Gordy; and survived by her daughters, Bonnie Leigh Sapp of Atlanta and Katherine Carter Clements of Atlanta; her grandsons, Gavin Keith Sapp of Acworth and Liam Clements of Atlanta; her brother, Luther "Sonny" Job (Jan Rountree) Bowles, III of Louisville; mother-in-law, Fay Joiner Clements; brother-in-law, James Bert (Erin Fite) Clements; sister-in-law, Beverly Clements (Nat) Dye, and other members of her loving family.
