Donna L. "Chippy" Cothern, 37, of Parsons, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025, at her home. Her death was unexpected.
Donna Lorena Martin was born on September 4, 1987, to Darrell L. and Donna Kaye (Burris) Martin, Sr., in Coffeyville, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in Labette County.
For a time, Donna worked as a caregiver at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.
The focus of Donna's life was her children. She loved raising, caring for and spending time with her children. She was artistic and had a special talent for drawing.
Survivors include:
Three children – Tyrisson, Thorison, and Freyson Henry
Her mother – Donna Kaye Martin of Parsons, Kansas
Her father – Darrell L. Martin, Sr., and his wife, Cheryl, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
One brother – Darrell Lloyd Martin, II, and his wife, Brooka, of Coffeyville, Kansas
One sister - Kimberlie Mulvihill and her husband, Robert, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma
Numerous nieces and nephews
Her maternal grandmother – Joan Burris-Lewis of Altamont, Kansas
There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Spring Hill Cemetery, north of Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
Memorials are suggested to defray final expenses. Checks may be made payable to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
