Donna Rae Dabrunz, 72, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. She was born on May 21, 1952 in Fremont to Ray Arlington and Shirley (Duffey) Freeze.
As a Green Springs native, Donna graduated from Clyde High School and Vanguard Technology Center in 1970.
Donna went to work for Quikut where she met the love of her life, Scott Dabrunz. They married on September 16, 1972 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont. Shortly after she began working for her father-in-law at Schmittuz Gardens where she spent over 20 years helping run the retail side of the business along with the books and anything that needed tending to.
Known for her lifelong passion for knitting and cross-stitch, Donna cultivated these skills during her time in 4-H as a young girl. Her nimble hands effortlessly maneuvered through intricate patterns, often completing large sections of her projects without having to glance down. She enjoyed spending Saturdays with her husband at the Toledo Farmer's Market where they sold produce and some of her projects.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 52 years, Scott; son Jonathan (Nina) Dabrunz of Fremont; grandchildren Zachary Dabrunz and Andreya (Norman) Tieman; mother Shirley Freeze of Green Springs; and siblings, Kathy Shoenfeld of Fremont, Bonnie Dray, Ray (Dawn) Freeze and Elaine (Hans) Holland all of Green Springs.
She is preceded in death by her father Arley Ray Freeze.
