It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious Mom, Donna Elizabeth Jones Davis on October 23rd, 2025, at Holzer Medical Center. Born July 10, 1938, in Pomeroy, Ohio to William Clinton Jones and Elsie Lenora Christy Jones of Pomeroy, Ohio. Donna lived 87 years surrounded by family and friends and her church family.
Donna met Jesus in 1984 and attended Burlingham Community Church where she spent years teaching Sunday School and the ladies group. Later Donna taught at the Burlingham Christian School for a few years and the Ladies Auxiliary. She shared in a nursing home ministry for shut in and elderly with special friend Maxine Herdman Hart. Donna was born with an eye disease known as Retinitis Pigmentosa. Donna had night blindness from birth that later caused complete blindness but Donna didn’t let that stop her from sharing how good God is.
Donna married Billie Allen Davis and had 4 beautiful children. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband of 19 years Billie Allen Davis, parents, William C. and Elsie L. Jones, brother and sister-in-law Larry and Dottie Jones of Pomeroy and sister and brother-in-law Barbara and David Pratt of Pomeroy, eldest daughter and son-in-law Lenora (Lorie) Marie Davis and John Wesley Moore of Pomeroy, son John Michael Davis of Pomeroy, nephew Joshua Darrell Jones of Pomeroy and best friend Teresa Reynolds of Pomeroy.
Surviving her are 3 brothers Rodney (Rick) Jones and wife Jan of Whiting, NJ, Gary and Debra Jones of Gallipolis and Timothy Jones and Hazel Life of Reedsville, son and daughter-in-law Joseph William Davis and wife Laura Thomas Davis of Middleport, daughter Tricia Dianne Davis Baer and husband Edward (Eddie) Baer of Pomeroy, daughter in law and husband LeAnna Davis Newsome and Brett Newsome, 11 beautiful
grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Donna had 2 special aides that became family to her, Heidi Reitmire of Pomeroy and Stephanie Chapman of Gallipolis.
Special thanks to her friends at Restoration Fellowship that came often to visit her and to the staff at Overbrook who cared for her, as well as Holzer Hospice who went above and beyond to keep her comfortable in her last days along with Holzer 4th floor west wing staff. Your care and compassion for our Mom was so appreciated.
A memorial celebration of life will be Friday, October 31, 2025. Visitation will start at 12:30 with service starting immediately after at 1:00 at the Restoration Fellowship, 526 Mulberry Heights Road, Pomeroy, Ohio. Special friend and family member Pastor Brenda Barnhart McClanahan will be officiating. Donna will be laid to rest in the Carleton Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Restoration Fellowship in Mom’s memory.
