To love and beloved unconditionally is the most precious gift a person can receive. A gift that Donna Mundo Donati experienced with every living fiber of her life. On May 1, 2025 Donna physically left us but her loving spirit will be with us forever.
Daughter of the late Marie Adams Mundo and Domenico D. Mundo was born on November 28, 1934 in Ellwood City. She married Vincent J. Donati on December 28, 1957. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1998.
A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and University of Pittsburgh graduate school of education, Donna arrived in New Castle as the Food Service Director of the New Castle Area School District as a consummate educator. She continued her profession as a Family and Consumer Education teacher, teen parenting coordinator for IU-4, Penn State instructor at St. Francis School of Nursing, Penn State Continuing Education program coordinator, nutrition consultant for LTC facilities, co-owner of Donati Music Company, Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Community Health Challenge, a non-profit health education agency and homebound teacher for Union Area Schools.
Community service and volunteerism was a passion as evidenced by her service as a board member of the American Red Cross, Quota Club, Lawrence County Home Economics Association, Junior Women's club, Beaver/Lawrence Girl Scout Council, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, Lawrence County Redevelopment Corporation, St. Mary's Choir, Downtown Merchants Association, New Castle Country Club and the New Castle Area School District Board of Directors for eight years.
Donna is survived by her two "Miracle Children" Deneen C. Donati and Joseph V. Donati (Melissa), four cherished grandchildren, Gunnar Donati (Madison), Tyler Donati (Allyson), Alexis Wagner (Shane), Sarah Puskas (Ethan). As the first born of Marie and Domenico Mundo, Donna also leaves her brother, James Mundo (April), two sisters, Frances M. Woods, and Catherine Pavkovich, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Domenic Mundo.
A Private Blessing Service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Father John Gizler will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.

So sorry for your loss! I have known Donna for many years. Met her first through my Mother who was secretary at Ben Franklin, then through her children at MaGill and at the music store. She was always kind and cheerful when we talked, especially when it involved our children. She´ll be missed. Sending love and hugs to Deneen and Joe and their families
