Donna Marie Dowling

It is with heavy hearts and deep peace that we announce the passing of our beloved Donna Marie Dowling, who is now at rest, restored, and joyfully embraced by Jesus.
Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life, and we find comfort knowing she is rejoicing in Heaven.
Donna Marie Dowling, 63, of Mechanicville, NY, passed away peacefully. Born in Oswego, NY, to Richard and Barbara Hyde, Donna graduated from Oswego High School in 1980. She pursued her passion for music at the renowned Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where she earned a Master's Degree in Music Education.
For most of her career, Donna dedicated herself to inspiring young musicians as an Instrumental Band Teacher in the elementary schools of the Oswego City School District. Her love of music extended far beyond the classroom; she was an active member of several community ensembles in the Capital District, including the Ballston Spa Community Band, the Music Company Orchestra of Schenectady (MCO), and the Union College Orchestra.
In addition to her musical gifts, Donna was a passionate and accomplished pickleball player, nationally rated and decorated with many tournament medals across the Northeast.
Donna is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas (Tom) Dowling; her cherished children, Lucas (Chloe) and Alise; and her loving siblings, Judy DiMarco (Gus) and Patty Lewis (Eric), both of Oswego, NY; David Hyde (Johann) of Ozark, MO; and Steve Hyde (Sarah) of Haymarket, VA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Faith Church, 11 Glenridge Road, Rexford, NY 12148.
In lieu of flowers, contributions maybe made to the Food Pantry at faithrexford.org.
