Donna Kay Engle

Donna Kay "Granny" Engle (Shaw) was born November 8 to Vergie and Floyd Shaw in Abbott, Arkansas. She left this world peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her home in Waldron, Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Engle, of Waldron, Arkansas, and two daughters, Melissa with Gabriel Sandoval, and Shannon with Mickey Slater, all of Waldron, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Floyd and Vergie Shaw, one daughter, Dianna Nordin, and one grandson, Tylon Wilkins.
Donna Kay was a free-spirited soul who was known to sneak off with her cousin Joanie and "borrow" a car or try to get into the bar. Her young shenanigans made for some hilarious tales of caution for the entire family. 'Granny' was an amazing mother figure to everyone. She worked hard to provide for her girls, even spoiling them with name-brand shoes when she could. She kept her girls safe from everything, including paddlings from the principal, and was always reminding them how much she loved them. She was "mom" to so many, especially her angel Ty, whom she sacrificed so much of her life for. She devoted her life to love and family, and basically, if you spoke to her once, you were family. She never gave up on anyone, believed in everyone, and was always there to give you the shirt off her back. She loved dancing, Elvis, and rock and roll. She enjoyed just visiting and gossiping, watching SVU or Chicago Fire, and playing computer games. She was the best cook ever; just ask the dogs. She was surrounded by many loving family members and one very supportive Andrea Nordin until her last moment in this world.
'Granny' was a remarkably kind and cool grandmother to 12 grandchildren: Brittany Bartlett, Zakk Wilkins, George Nordin, Jr., Shyloh Nordin, Jade Ingle, Lyric Nordin, Adrianna Ingle, Lakelynn Nordin-Sherman, Alex Slater, Gabriela Sandoval, and Donovan Sandoval, and numerous great-grandkids.
She was the glue to our loony-bin, and we will all be sorely missing her forever.
Donna's celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Martin Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Pearson Cemetery on Hutchens Lane in Waldron, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will include George Nordin Jr., Shyloh Nordin, Gabriel Sandoval, Mickey Slater, John Ingle, and Lenny Bailey.
Honorary pallbearers are Donovan, Mason, Eli, Jax, and SJ.
Arrangements are under the direction of Martin Funeral & Cremation – Waldron.
