Donna Mae Fluto
April 20, 1933 - August 15, 2025
Donna Mae Fluto, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on April 20, 1933, and grew up in Lidgerwood, ND.
On March 12, 1953, Donna married Richard Fluto, in Webster, SD. Soon after they moved to Riverside, California while Richard served in the Air Force. Upon completion of his service, they moved back to Wyndmere, ND where they started their family. In 1973 they settled in Lisbon, ND.
Donna was a proud mother of three children. She always put her children and grandchildren first. She never missed a sporting event, birthday, or opportunity to celebrate her family. In her earlier years, she loved her Wednesday afternoon bowling league with friends. She was always ready for a challenge whether it was Scrabble, Dominos, Rummikub or cards with a family member. She was always ready! Later in life she loved tending to her flowers and birds on her patio at Prospect Manor.
Donna's legacy lives on in the family she cherished. She had a wonderful life, though marked by heartbreak including the loss of two children, Jeff and Sandy. Despite those painful losses she continued with remarkable strength. Her resilience was a true testament to her faith and inner strength.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Fluto (Ameen Darwish, McCall Huus (Coltin Huus), Jenner Manske), Lisbon, ND; sister, Jean Tesh; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, Betsy Greenley (Collin, Coltyn, Haven, Hudson, and Jax), Lisbon, ND, Sarah Edland (Tim, Ames, Kamden), Sadie Fluto, Fargo, ND, Matt Howell (Casey, Tierney and Sutton), West Fargo, ND, Chris Howell (Amy, Eleanor and Julian), Fargo, ND, Amber Asche (Jen Estes, Jeratt and Emmit), St. Michael, MN, Tyler Asche (Aimee Haring, Jaylyn, and Rylan), Gwinner, ND.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Fluto; her son, Jeffrey Fluto (LuAnn Carrier); her daughter, Sandra Asche (Rodney Asche); and her sisters, Delores Froelich and Ada Ehli. Donna's life was a testament to kindness, strength, and unconditional lovea legacy reflected in the family she cherished and the joy she brought to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held with a visitation on Sunday August 17th from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by a prayer service at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Lisbon, ND. The funeral will be on Monday August 18th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon at 10:30 a.m. Donna's service will be live streamed on the Dahlstrom Funeral Home website
