Donna Marie (Flanagan) Greim (71) passed peacefully at her home in Morton, PA on November 24th.
She was born to the late Paul and Eleanore Flanagan in Darby, PA on March 13, 1952. She was a 1970 graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School. She obtained her undergraduate degree in education from St. Joseph’s University and a master’s degree in education from Temple University. A passionate educator for over 40 years, Donna taught at many Delaware County schools both catholic and public. Primarily teaching 6th grade, Donna worked tirelessly to get the most out of her students and stressed the importance of education for their futures. Many were amazed at how a woman of small stature could command such a large presence in the classroom. Retiring in 2015 from East Lansdowne Basic School, Donna enjoyed spending time down the shore with her husband of 47 years, George J. Greim, and volunteering at after-school reading programs. The epitome of selflessness, she was constant in her desire for the happiness of others and making sure everyone was cared for. This was ever present with her five grandchildren (Emily, Cora, Ryan, Elise, and Dominic) who never heard the word “no” from their grandmother. A wonderful cook, Donna welcomed anyone to her table and enjoyed entertaining her company with stories for hours. Priding herself on her family traditions, Donna regularly hosted Christmas Eve providing special memories each year for all who attended.
She is survived by her husband, George J. Greim, three sons and their wives Joseph (Kathleen) Greim, Matthew (Veronica) Greim, and Mark (Alexandra) Greim and her sister Kathleen Flanagan along with multiple nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to her 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2024 Visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 2130 Franklin Ave. Morton, PA 19070 followed by her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery
