Donna Kay Houghlin

A Taylorsville resident, Mrs. Donna Kay Houghlin, age 82, passed away Thursday November 14, 2024, at her residence. She was born October 22, 1942, in Louisville Kentucky to the late Robert H "Bob" and Mary Ella Snider-Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David Houghlin, a brother, Kenny Brown and a grandson, Tyler Shelburne.
Donna was a retired employee of the Spencer County Insurance Agency, was a former Spencer County treasurer, a former employee of Seven County Services, a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Taylorsville.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise (Billy) Shelburne of Taylorsville, a son, Brian (Lisa) Houghlin of Prospect, 4 grandchildren, Garrett Shelburne, Sam Owen, Brooks Owen, and Lucy Owen.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Kim Pfeiffer and Carol Curtsinger for the wonderful care that they gave Donna over the last year and a half.
A private service will be held at Valley Cemetery Chapel with Bro. Chad Goodlett officiating.
A public celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11:00 am at Taylorsville Community Church, Bro. Chad Goodlett officiating, followed by a luncheon.
The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
