Donna Louese "Meme" Kagarice, age 81 of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Carriage Square Rehab and Healthcare Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was born April 11, 1943 to Donald Dean and Mary Louise Miller Snodgrass in Bates County, Missouri.
Donna, one of three children, spent her whole life in the Spruce, Missouri area. She attended Cherry Grove School in Spruce where she had Suzanne Dudley as a teacher who was also a lifelong friend. On June 27, 1959 she was united in marriage to Rob Roy Kagarice and to this union, four children were born. Donna was a homemaker and later worked for Osage Pecan Factory in Butler. She was a member of the Spruce United Methodist Church and was baptized at the Deepwater Creek low water bridge. Later she attended the Virginia United Methodist Church.
Donna was known as competitive, independent, active and the sweetest woman–but would let you have it if you needed it. She enjoyed going to Sonic two or three times a day, hummingbirds, flowers and mowing–she mowed all of Spruce. Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren; her dog, Leo whom she shared with her granddaughter, Lexie; and watching sports with her grandchildren–her favorite athletes. Whenever the grandchildren had an "uh-oh" moment, they always turned to Meme.
Donna is survived by a son, Roy Kagarice and wife Cindy of Spruce, Missouri; two daughters, Carol Bright and husband Gene of Adrian, Missouri and Tina Oerke and husband Neale of Butler, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Charity (Troy) Engelhardt, Cole (Tina) Kagarice, Jesse (Jayme) Kagarice, Lacie (Jeremy) Friesz, Shanie (Keith) Mitchell, Lane (Aimee) Oerke, Weston (Morgan) Oerke, Garrett (Serenity) Oerke, Kale Oerke and Lexie Ward; 14 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Lily, Hayden, Harper, Abigail, Finley, Hanna, Sadie, Max, Olivia, EnsLea, Rustin, Tateyn, Paxtun and one due in September; a brother, Jim Snodgrass and wife Julie of Warsaw, Missouri; a sister, Norma Robinson of Pittsburg, Kansas; a son-in-law, Mike Ward of Nevada, Missouri; and a special friend, Lynn Light. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50+ years, Rob Roy Kagarice on September 13, 2011; and a daughter, Beverly Ann Ward.
