Linton Doyle Mann

Linton Doyle Mann, 86, resident of Greenwood and beloved husband of Patricia Trussell Mann, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025, at his home after a nineteen year battle with C.M. Leukemia.
Born July 1939 in Waterloo, he was the son of the late Clarence Mann and Estelle (Sykes) Sides Mann. A 1958 graduate of Hickory Tavern High School, Linton was captain of the football team, served as Art Editor of the school newspaper and annual, and won numerous awards for his artwork, including the honor of having one of his paintings displayed in the school lobby. He also worked as a sports writer for the Hickory Tavern School Newspaper.
A proud graduate of a renowned art school, Linton had the privilege of studying under the legendary Norman Rockwell. He also served in the National Guard. His professional career included retirement from Standard Coffee Company, later working with Coffee Break, and eventually becoming the proud owner of Mann's Coffee and Tea, Inc.
A member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood, Linton will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love for art, and his warm presence among friends and loved ones.
In addition to his wife of 66 years and high school sweetheart, Patricia-together celebrating their anniversary on July 14, 1959-he is survived by his daughter, Darlene Mann Clarke (Joseph, III) of Greenville; siblings, Tony Mann, Nancy Mann Long (Wheeler), and Faye Mann Ellis, and Steve Mann; and a special nephew and caretaker, Tony Partridge. He also dearly loved all his Mann and Trussell nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings Mary Alice, Betty, Roger, Mike, Oscar, and David.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, at First Baptist Church of Greenwood with Rev. David Corbitt, and Rev. Louie Murray officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00–3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
A private family burial will follow at Waterloo Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Mann, Shannon Ballew, Brad Bishop, Dan Mann, Gary Mann Sr., and Mark Mann.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joe Stevenson of the Cancer Center of Greenville, Dr. Burnett of Piedmont Internal Medicine, Agape Hospice, Dr. Holmes, Dr. Jones of Self Regional Healthcare, Dr. Anthony Holt of Greenwood, and the Agape nurses-especially Laura Bundrick-for their dedicated care.
