Donna Smith Macloskie left the life she loved and lived so well on Friday, January 31, 2025. She is survived by her husband, Mike, her sons, Pat (Danae) and John, her grandchildren, Amelia, Emma, Frampton, Mary Hope and her sister Susan Greene of Greer, South Carolina.
She was born in Greer, South Carolina on August 31, 1950 to Mamie Hollingsworth Smith and Fred S. Smith both of whom died before her. Her brother, Mike Smith also died before her.
She graduated from the University of South Carolina. She was a certified ultra sonographer working in women's health care most of her professional life. She was, prior to her diagnosis of cancer, a valued part of the team at Riverside Women's Care.
She was a loving and caring and devoted to her husband, Mike, her sons, Pat and John, her daughter in law Danae, her granddaughters, Amelia, Emma and Mary Hope, her grandson, Frampton and sister, Susan.
She was devoted to her work and loved taking care of expectant mothers.
She faced life's harshness realistically while still enjoying the beauty of life. Thanks be to God.
Her smile lit up the room as she lived, laughed and loved until very close to leaving this little ball of dust.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 2:00pm in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Port Royal, South Carolina and Friends of Caroline Hospice in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

My dearest friend, tomorrow would be your birthday. I´ve always remembered this over the years, and usually sent a card. I met you when you´d just turned 26, so many years ago. We had such fun together, and I thought you were one of the kindest people I´d ever known.
You were so in love with Mike! Your face lit up every time you mentioned his name, and he so obviously adored you. I knew you both would be together forever.
It´s so hard to realize you´re no longer with us physically, yet your beautiful spirit remains. I will never forget you.

Hey Mrs. Donna, thank you for, helping me see 3 of my 4. I often wonder if you made it up to Heaven's doors. I know you have, and I know that you've spread love galore. We laughed and smiled. I know you touched my family and so much more, the hope of welcoming new lives is a chore. Praying for your family...I know that they have missed you for sure. Thought of you and wanted to pen you a score but this will do for now, God needs you. Thank you for being so pure

Dear Mike (Donna) and Family: Mostly, I knew Donna through Mike´s eyes - and those eyes presented an image of of a great love affair between two loving people. I do know that with each encounter I saw a loving compassionate person as reflected with a warm smile and sparkling eyes. That compassion will be missed in todays world.

Donna was such a special person and so full of life. Heaven definitely got a good angel. Donna loved Mike and her family very very much. I will always treasure the fun times her and I had at the University of South Carolina Beaufort campus.
