Donna Mathis Obituary
Donna was born May 14, 1939 in Elco, Illinois the 10th child of Gene and Donnie (Brooks) Kee. Donna was a wonderful woman and and she never met a stranger. Donna married James Branch in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 1965. She then married Bob Mathis in May of 1965. They shared many of the same interests in life. Donna and Bob formed their own band called the BVD'S. She played the bass guitar and was the lead singer. Donna had many musical talents. She loved music most and her favorite was country western. Donna retired from the Jonesboro, IL grade school in 2001 where she was a secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Lee, Jesse (Bub), Vernon, George, Enos, Lester, Conrad, Denny, and Dale Wayne; sisters: Almeda and Betty Baldwin; step son, David Mathis; beloved dog, Uno.
Donna is survived by her children: James "Jim" (Jeannie) Branch of Tamms, Donnetta (Tim) Plunket of Florida, and Brad (Lisa) Mathis of Indiana; step children: Mike Mathis, Toni Livengood, and Bobby Mathis; 14 grandchildren; and several great grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
