Donna Forsythe McDivitt

The McDivitt family is heartbroken to part ways with our Donna McDivitt. She may have lived in Florida, but for us, her home will always be Tennessee. She was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet-capable of loving others past their faults and through their failures. She found value in every person she encountered and held unconditional love in her heart for her family and friends.
Donna spent a lifetime in nursing. She was a natural caregiver and always wanted to do everything she could to help people-strangers, family, animals it didn't matter. She left everything better than she found it in one way or another. She was a faithful wife to her high school sweetheart and husband, the late Mitchell Keith McDivitt, for 37 years. Their marriage was fire-tested, with Donna always staying by his side, through hardship, through cancer, and finally to the end. We know the road ahead will lead her back to him. She was his home, and he was hers. She loved her children with her entire being-her son, Brian Keller McDivitt; her daughter, Anne Ladyem McDivitt; and her beloved furbaby, the late "Piggy," Donna and Mitch's tiny shih tzu companion. Her children were her entire world, and she and Mitch did everything in their power to make them feel loved and special. She also encouraged them to chase their dreams, and when those dreams led them far from home, she and Mitch would sometimes chase those dreams with them. Donna was the best mother, sister, daughter, and aunt any of us could ever ask for. In our hearts, we will never forget the years on Oak Street, eating Aunt Donna's Mexican cornbread and listening to Uncle Mitch's bad jokes, or the years on Pate Ave.: sleepovers, cookouts, and jumping on the trampoline. She was always on board for an adventure, always welcoming you with a big hug, and she never let the sadness or disappointments of life ruin the happiness she found in between. It is impossible to measure the loss of someone so meaningful to your life. Hearts break forever over losses like this, and the world feels lonelier without her in it. Her smile and laugh will be missed, but we hold onto the memories of a life well-lived and a person well-loved.
Donna was the beloved sister of Bradley Forsythe, the late Adair Forsythe, and Vivian Forsythe Archie. She follows her mother, the late Judy Reeves Forsythe, and her father, the late B.A. Forsythe. Donna was the proud aunt of Scarlett McClure, Rhiana Archie, Ashleigh Murray, Jessi Agee (Jared), Michael Justin Townsend (Natalie), Jane Bradlee Forsythe, AnnLera Forsythe, Addie Bleed (Tim), and Rachel Townsend (Joshua). She was the sister-in-law of the late Vicky McDivitt, Richard McDivitt, and John McDivitt (Lynn). She was the daughter-in-law of the late Jimmy Darrell McDivitt and the late Martha Delores McDivitt, who always loved her like their own.
Memorial visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Curry Funeral Home.
