Donna Kay Newman

Donna K. Bruce Newman, died at age 86 on October 21, 2025, in Bloomington, Indiana.
Donna was born in Bloomington on April 3, 1939, to Clovis Franklin Bruce (Spice) and Elsie Faye Craig Bruce.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmie Joe Newman, and her beloved grandson Thomas Ryan Newman.
She is survived by her children, Tamera Machango (Mike), Jill Newman (Keith Brook), and Joe Newman. By her grandchildren, Courtney Hamblen Wesley (Drew), James Matthew Newman, Jacob Machango, Chase Machango (Heather Ahmann), Jenn Newman (Alli Grahn), and two great-grandchildren, Judd and Josie Wesley. In addition, two brothers, Kenneth Dale Bruce (Audrey) of Florida, and Richard Bruce (Lane) of Arizona, and many cousins, nieces and one nephew.
Donna retired from the Monroe County Public Library. She had a true love of reading, especially mysteries. She enjoyed traveling, watching sports, playing cards, completing crossword puzzles, often with the grandsons, and visiting with family and friends. She was most happy surrounded by her children and their families, gathering them each year in Destin, Florida for an end-of-summer bash. She adored her grandchildren and found a special joy in afternoons spent playing with her great-grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family endlessly. She will be sorely missed by all of them.
