Larry Hunter

Larry Keith Hunter, 82, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Thursday November 6, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born to Melvin and Henrietta (Raper) Hunter on September 4, 1943.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Betty Hunter, both his parents, three sisters: Shirley Hunter, Mary Alice Hunter, and Patricia Vaught, and two brothers: Donald Hunter and Harry Hunter.
Larry is survived by his children; Debra Hunter (Denise Knell) and Catherine Bruce all of Ellettsville. His grandchildren; Caitlan (Jedediah) Smith of Stinesville, Haley (David Bostic) Hunter of Indianapolis, Joseph Bruce of Bloomington, and Benjamin (Carlie Roberston) Bruce of Bloomington. Nine great-grandchildren; Alivia, Willis, Hunter, Oaklyn, Kendra, Ezra, Rex, Gunnar, and one baby girl on-the-way. One beloved three legged wiener dog named Elvis. One very large orange tabby named Oscar. He is also survived by countless friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and associates who knew and loved him.
He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1961. He was a Excavator for more than 50 years working locally. He was a avid bowler known well throughout the classic lanes community. He showed his love by taking care of all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Larry will be held on Tuesday November 11, 2025 at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville from 4:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 beginning at 12:00 pm with Pastor Jane Muncie officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.
