William "Bill" Pfrommer, 71, of Bloomington, Indiana, has gone to rest in peace with his heavenly father. He died peacefully at his home on November 6, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on June 7, 1954 to Ruth Lydia (Geist) & Robert Edward Pfrommer in Lafayette, Indiana. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Leslie (Manifold) Pfrommer, his daughters, Laryn (Colin) Clark, Allyson (Rob) Doty, Kelsey (Aaron) Vaughn, step-daughter Kathryn Schell (Chris Smith), step-son Tom Schell, and eleven adoring grandchildren; Finn, Emma, Will, Lainey, Alexander, Landon, Basil, Ava, Ah'monie, Cary, and Miller. He is also survived by his brothers, Bob (Brenda) Pfrommer, Bruce (Katherine Pease) Pfrommer, sister-in-law Susie Schaefer, mother of his three daughters Tya Hanna, and nieces & nephews; Jake, Ryan, Lindsay, Lauryn & Liam.
Bill was the definition of a "good guy"; deeply devoted to his wife & his family, his faith, his church, his community, and his work. Most recently referred to as "Papa Bill", our beloved Dad was an example to all those lucky to know him. He was humble, honest, kind, and humorous. Always ready to offer a helping hand, a genuine smile, or a bit of sarcasm - all to lighten someone else's load. Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed a round at Pfau, Cascades, The Pointe, and just about any course with an open tee time. He golfed with his best friends, his wife, his sons, and many treasured golf buddies. Our Dad also enjoyed live music in the park with Leslie, meals with his kids, hugs from his grandkids, family trips, warm sunny weather, relaxing on his deck, a soak in his hot tub, and of course cheering on the Indiana Hoosiers.
Bill was part of the last graduating class of Bloomington High School, Class of 1972. He attended Indiana University before following his father's footsteps into the family tire business. Bill managed Bloomington Tire (Goodyear) downtown Bloomington for 17 years before becoming a real estate appraiser in 1992. He owned & operated Pfrommer Appraisal, Inc. He was actively committed to Faith Lutheran Church; serving as School Board President for over 15 years, acting as Head Usher, Congregational Chairman, and so much more. Bill enthusiastically rang The Salvation Army bell each holiday season and was a natural mentor to many.
Bill will be greatly missed and remembered by his family & community. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
Visitation Wednesday November 12 at Allen Funeral Home 4:00-7:00 PM. Memorial Service Thursday November 13 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 2200 S. High Street Bloomington, IN. Celebration of Life following at The Pfau Course 1492 Indiana 45/46 Bypass Bloomington, IN. 5:00-8:00 PM.
