Donna Pierce

Donna Annette Pierce (Holland), 73, of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, entered her eternal home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 15, 2025. She was born on June 1, 1952, in Chattanooga, TN, the daughter of Derrell and Josephine Holland, who preceded her in death.

Donna's life was marked by her deep faith in Jesus Christ. She lived each day with a servant's heart, sharing kindness, encouragement, and the love of Christ with everyone she met. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher, she left an enduring example of what it means to walk faithfully with the Lord. She loved God's Word, cherished her church family, and lived with the assurance of eternal life.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harold Fredrick "Fred" Pierce; her sister Denise Holland Poarch (Charlie); her children Liza Auterino (Adam) and Eugene Pierce (Mindy); and her beloved grandchildren Luke and Caroline Pierce and Niko Auterino, who brought her great joy.

Donna spent her career as a teacher, pouring her heart into the lives of countless students. She retired in 2012 from Chickamauga Elementary School. Donna believed teaching was not just a profession but a calling, and she sought to honor God in every lesson taught and every child encouraged.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the teams from Sacred Journey Hospice and Live Oak Caregivers who lovingly supported Donna during her illness. Their compassion and care brought comfort and peace in her final days.

A celebration of Donna's life will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe on August 23rd at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join in worship and thanksgiving to God for the gift of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to ALS research (ALS.org), in the hope of finding a cure for this devastating disease.
