Obituary of Donna Reichardt
Donna K. Reichardt, age 76 of Solon died Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Living Center West under Hospice Care in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service with burial to follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.
Donna Kay Shaw was born October 7, 1948, in Iowa City the daughter of Howard and Gladys (Polley) Shaw. She attended schools in Lone Tree graduating with the Class of 1966 from Lone Tree High School. She then attended Muscatine Community College later graduating from there. She was united in marriage to John D. Reichardt Jr. on September 29, 1990, in North Liberty. The couple has lived in Iowa City for many years before moving to rural Solon. She has worked a number of places in her lifetime, beginning as a cosmetologist, then over 27 years at Proctor & Gamble in Iowa City, then Specialty Blending in Cedar Rapids and coming out of retirement to work at the HyVee at crossroads in Coralville.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Iowa City and also the Morse Community Club. She enjoyed her flowers, bowling, boating, camping, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, traveling and stopping at the casino. But most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and fur babies and dogs!
Her family includes her husband, John; children, Todd Clothier (Jennifer), Scott Clothier (Elizabeth), and Traci Hahn (Brian); 6; grandchildren, Tyler Clothier, Kelsey Clothier, Carter Clothier, Jack Clothier, Riley Clothier-Parizek, and Madison Hahn; and Donna's sister, Mary Ann Stahly (Donald).
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ken Shaw; nephew, Brian Bristol, brother-in-law; Richard Bristol, John's parents; John Reichardt Sr (Jack) and Lila Jean Reichardt.
