Donna Deane Renner

Donna Deane Renner, age 79, of Coldwater, MI passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at her home in Coldwater. She was born on February 7, 1945 in Ypsilanti, MI, a daughter of the late Gerald Deane and Virginia (Baisch) Thomas. On October 12, 1963 at Macon United Methodist Church, she married Donald Vaughn Renner and they have shared 61 years together.
Donna worked for 25 years at Wacker Silicone before retiring in 2009. In her youth she attended Macon UMC. Later she was an active member of Blissfield First UMC. She also was a Girl Scout leader, 4-H Advisor, and a chaperone on many field trips. Donna was an avid knitter, quilter and loved doing ceramics. She was a loving grandmother and enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's sporting events.
Along with her husband Donald, she is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Renner of Novi, MI, Elizabeth Brazee of Federal Way, WA and Victoria (Lee) Welch of Luckey, OH; a brother, Richard (Donna) Thomas of Clinton, MI; a sister, Nancy Tschirhart of Clinton, MI; 7 grandchildren, Donovan Merk, Olivia (Blaine) Napier, Emily Merk, Jacob (Jessica) Welch, Alex Merk, Seth Welch and Isaac Johnson; 7 great-grandchildren; a special mention of her friend of over 60 years, Bonnie Harvey and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Thomas; sisters, Ardith Tucker and Judith Stentzel and two brothers-in-law, Wayne Tucker and Mark Tschirhart.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1:30pm at Macon United Methodist Church in Macon, MI. Visitation will be from 12pm until the time of the celebration. Quilts made by Donna are welcome to be brought in her remembrance. Inurnment will be in Macon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Macon United Methodist Church or Elara Caring Hospice. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.
