It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Marie Robinson-Hunt, aged 63, who departed this life, at home, on May 13, 2025, in Richardson, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Donna touched the lives of everyone she met with her beautiful smile and kind heart.

Donna Marie Erdy was born March 28, 1962, in Lorain, Ohio. Donna’s father Don was in the airline industry, and so in 1973 the family moved to Chicago IL, and again in 1978 to the Houston area. She graduated from Klein High School in Spring Texas. She attended Woman's Hospital of Texas (Houston) where she received her nursing degree and board certification. From there she became a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, in which she took pride for the rest of her life. Working as a nurse in McAllen, Texas, she bought school supplies for her needy students. Upon seeing a student without shoes, she took her lunch hour to go buy a pair.

Donna later worked in the medical devices industry, specializing in reimbursement. She joined Smith & Nephew in 2000, retiring as Director Reimbursement-Sports Medicine-Orthopedic-Trauma-ENT in October 2023. Donna's professional life was marked by her commitment to excellence and compassion for others. She was known to personally assist, on her own time, with reimbursement issues for patients who needed help.

Donna’s last boss at S&N wrote: “Donna touched the lives of so many people, including literally hundreds of her S&N colleagues, who always felt cared for and encouraged by Donna. We will remember her spirit, devotion to family, determination to collaborate and work hard. She was our wise confidant, trusted advisor, champion and wonderful friend. We grieve her loss, but are heartened knowing that her spirit lives on and we will see her again one day.”

So many of her co-workers expressed their fondness of and admiration for Donna. “She was my favorite person at S&N, always kind, resourceful, and most helpful”. “Donna was truly a gem and a one of a kind colleague”. “You were a wonderful colleague, always had something nice to say, always a smile on your face.”

But it was her vibrant artistic talents that truly defined her. Donna was a prolific artist, skilled in painting, tile mosaics, and the creation of beautiful homecoming mums. She was happiest in her studio, creating wonderful pieces in different media. She loved to buy perfectly good plates and coffee mugs from the thrift store, then take them home and smash them, turning the pieces into beautiful tile compositions. Her passion for photography and baking also brought joy to those fortunate enough to receive her beautiful creations. At Christmas, you would find Donna baking cookies and chocolates for the neighbors, which she would carefully and beautifully bag, then hand out around the block. She decorated the entire house with Christmas dolls, wreaths, and lights. It was all rooted in her love for family and neighbors.

Donna loved traveling with her husband to New York City, and in their RV with Shih Tzus Waffles and Ollie, who she doted upon endlessly. Every morning began with a handful of mini-treats for each furbaby. She especially loved camping in the cool, higher elevation of Red River NM. It was a credit to her cooking skills that she was able to create fantastic meals in the confines of her relatively tiny RV kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dominic Robinson, whose memory remains cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Stewart Hunt; her daughter, Lynn Marie Duehning and her husband Chris; her son, Anthony Robinson; and her cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Ava, and Lily. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald (Donny) Erdy and Doug Erdy, along with several nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and affection.

In honor of Donna's life, the family will hold a service to celebrate her memory, at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Compass Church, Roanoke, Texas.

Donna will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, creativity, and compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of family and friends, a testament to her kind heart and generous spirit.
