Ellabell, Georgia-Donna Jean Smith, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at her home in Ellabell, GA. She was born on June 13, 1957, in Savannah, Georgia, to Lawton Edgar Evans and Gail Brantley Evans, who predeceased her.

Donna's life was a testament to love, dedication, and strength. As a Medicaid Advisor with the Health Department, she was known for her hard work and devotion to serving others. Intelligent and self-taught, Donna valued learning throughout her life.

She was the beloved wife of Terry D. Smith, who was her partner in life for many years. Donna is survived by her daughter, Jennifer J. Martin, who was the light of her life, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Kiarra D.G. Ricketts, Shamaria J. Martin, Joseph W. Martin, and Laile J. Martin. Her role as "Nana" was paramount, and her grandchildren were truly her heart, visiting nearly every weekend. She adored her great-grandchildren, Isabel Stoves, Carmen Ricketts, Violet Martin, Emery Martin, Maverick Martin, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of another beloved addition to the family.

She is also survived by her sisters, Terry Spivey, Linda Boyd, Tina Evans, and Sandra McDonald (Allen), as well as her faithful and beloved cat, Bean.

Donna had a big heart and a down-to-earth nature that made everyone around her feel loved and cared for. Her strength of will, devotion to family, and love for the holidays left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Donna's family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date to honor her memory and the profound influence she had on her loved ones. Arrangements are being managed by Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory.

Donna Jean Smith will be fondly remembered as the "best Nana ever," a wonderful mother, devoted wife, and a friend to all. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who had the joy of knowing her.
