Born on May 25, 1954, in Wharton, Texas, Donna was known for her warmth, creativity, and dedication to those around her.
For over 30 years, Donna dedicated herself to her craft as a florist, bringing joy and beauty to the lives of countless individuals in Brazoria County and surrounding communities. Her passion for flowers was only rivaled by her love for gardening and crafting, pursuits that not only showcased her artistic talents but also provided an outlet for her nurturing spirit.
After her husband’s passing, Donna was a profound source of comfort and guidance to many through her role in leading the grief share group at New Shores Baptist Church in Sweeny, Texas. Her ability to connect with others in times of sorrow illustrated her remarkable empathy and kindness. She found purpose in ensuring that those around her never felt alone in their moments of struggle.
Her family cherishes her memory deeply. Donna is survived by her daughters, Holly Simonsen and her husband James of Lake Jackson, Texas, and April Vera and her wife Sandra of Sweeny, Texas and her son Clint Spearow of New Orleans, Louisiana. Additionally, Donna was a proud grandmother to Audrey Grace Simonsen, whose laughter and joy filled her heart with immense pride. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Meyer, and sister, Susan Meuth, who remember her with endless affection.
In her passing, she joins her husband, Larry Lee Spearow, as well as her parents, Veleska Rosalie (Englehart) and Otto Herman Meyer, and her sister, Geraldine Meyer, all of whom await her in eternal peace.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Donna's life at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas, on November 5, 2025. The memorial gathering will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by a service to honor her remarkable life at 3:00 PM.
