Donna R. Springer, a cherished member of her community and devoted family matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home on November 9, 2024 at the age of 75. Born on February 24, 1949, in Delaware, Ohio, Donna lived a life full of warmth, humor, and a passion for connections with those she loved.
After dedicating 25 years of her career to Delphi Kettering, Donna retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Known for her pleasant demeanor and infectious sense of humor, she had a unique ability to brighten any room she entered. Donna delighted in the simple joys of life, particularly her love for shopping, with a special fondness for shoes, and she had a particular affinity for heartwarming programs, often enjoying the Hallmark channel and the timeless comedy of "Golden Girls."
In addition to her career and hobbies, Donna was an avid attendee of car shows for many years, where she gathered wonderful memories with her friends and family. Her devotion to her loved ones was unmatched; she relished every moment spent with them, whether during family gatherings or quiet evenings at home.
Donna is survived by her beloved children, Mark (Mary) Burkholder and Loretta (James) Randolph, who hold dear the treasured memories they shared with their mother. She was the proud grandmother of Amanda (Amine Dehmani) Burkholder, Rene (Dustin Hickman) Lakes, Candra Lakes, Bubby Lakes, Dawn Griggs, Kurt Griggs, and Nick Sherwood. Donna’s legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Anthony Newsome Jr., Heavenly Newsome, Alison Newsome, Kai Newsome, Gaige Ross, Landon Lakes, Caylyn Lakes, Kolton Griggs and Tyler Griggs, as well as her favorite niece, Rene Gobble.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Earl Springer; her parents, Gilbert and June Shull; her brothers, James and Robert Shull; her sister, Carol Morphies; grandsons, Brandon Lakes and Brian Lakes; and her great-grandson, Vernon Ross. Donna’s family will forever cherish her spirit and love, which will resonate in their hearts for years to come.
In her memory, family and friends can find solace in the joyful times shared and the enduring connections she fostered in her lifetime. Donna R. Springer will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her laughter, kindness, and devotion to her family. Her beloved cat, Smokey, also adds to the circle of remembrance that surrounds the family she so lovingly nurtured.
