Donna Lynne Staggs, 87, of Lawrence, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.
She was born February 17, 1938, in Paw Paw, the daughter of Richard Cook and Isadore (Sirrine) Cook.
Donna was an active part of her community. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Van Buren Regional Genealogical Society, Van Buren Historical Society and the Paw Paw-Lawton Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #257 (OES). She took great pride in genealogical research, quilting and spending time with her family. Donna enjoyed cooking and had the best (still undisputed) chocolate chip cookies in the world!
On April 6, 1953, in Indiana, Donna married Thomas Gale Staggs, who preceded her in death April 12, 2025. Donna and Tom married in their teenage years and spent 72 loving years together. They truly were a team and did everything together, never apart until Tom's passing. Donna is now reunited with Tom.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas R Staggs, Jr., and Barry W (Bobbie) Staggs; seven grandchildren, Stephen Tyler, Tim Staggs, T.C. Staggs, Travis Staggs, Joshua (Megan) Staggs, Matthew Staggs, Tabitha (Aaron Leedy) Staggs; sister, Darlene Lafata; along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gale Staggs, daughter, Shari L. Tyler, sister, Doris McReynolds, and her grandson, Daniel (Kimberly) Tyler.
Per Donna's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services held.
