Donna Louise Steiger

The family of Donna Louise Steiger is saddened to announce her passing on October 31, 2025 in Yreka, California. Donna was 88 years old.
Donna was born in Long Beach, California on November 6, 1936 to Charles R. Williams and Madonna R. (Hess) Williams and resided there until her early teenage years when the family moved to Medford, Oregon. Donna attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Medford High School, from which she graduated. On December 3, 1953 she married Leroy "Chuck" E. Steiger who was an active member of the U.S. Air Force. In 1958 she moved with her husband to the Scott Valley area where they built a home and raised their 5 children. Donna remained in the family home until the passing of her husband of 56 years (Chuck) and the passing of her son Michael, both of whom had been ill for several years. Donna then moved to Yreka, buying a large historic home on Pine Street where she spent the ensuing years making repairs and updating the home aided by her daughter Gail. Donna was a voracious reader and instilled the same love of reading in all of her children. Donna dearly loved her children and grandchildren and that love was reciprocated by all.
Donna is survived by her children Mark (Kathy) Steiger, Gail (Scott) Taylor, Dennis (Julie) Steiger, and Carolyn (Ben) Barrera. In addition, she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, as well as her sister Mary Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna was predeceased by her husband Leroy "Chuck" Steiger, son Michael R. Steiger, a grandchild Benjamin Barrera, her parents Charles and Madonna Williams, and her brother Charles (Bud) Williams Jr.
