John Steiger Obituary
He was born in Middletown, Ohio on April 3rd, 1943, to the late Daniel and Mary Ellen (Mock) Steiger. He graduated from Wellesley High School. After high school, he attended the University of Miami earning a bachelor's degree and went on to earn a master's degree in business from Suffolk University.
John owned an eel business in Newburyport in the 1980's, and worked as a realtor for decades throughout Cape Ann.
John loved sailing, being on the sea, and most of all he loved his dock on Smith Cove, and the community he built there.
John enjoyed nature and was deeply connected to wildlife. He was a lifelong environmentalist and had a special connection to Gloucester, and a dedication to protecting Gloucester's natural beauty.
John is survived by his loving daughter, Amantha Hamilton Steiger.
In accordance with John's wishes, his funeral service will be private. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester. Condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
