Donna M. (Ensminger) Vocke, 83 years old, left this earth on Thursday, May 8, 2025 passing peacefully from natural causes at her home in Ellicott City with her family.

Born January 22, 1942, to Walter and Florence Ensminger, she was a 1960 graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland. Donna married Joseph F. "Joe" Vocke on February 11, 1961 at Sts. Peter's and Paul's Catholic Church on Fayette Street. Donna and Joe were proud parents of Deborah L. Vocke and Diane S. (Vocke) Honeycutt. Donna worked at Super Shoes on Centre Street during her senior year. Following graduation she moved to Washington, DC, sharing an efficiency apartment with her cousin, Lois Davis, on MacArthur Boulevard, NW. Donna was employed by the C&P Telephone Co., working in the Executive Office from 1960 to 1970. After their wedding, Donna and Joe moved to Lee Gardens in Arlington, VA.

In 1964 Donna and family moved from Arlington, VA to their first house in Hyattsville, MD. She completed the Patricia Stevens Finishing/Modeling School in Washington, DC in 1971. Donna was employed in the Business Office at Providence Hospital in NE Washington during 1970 through 1972. Donna and family moved from Hyattsville to Columbia, MD the day before Thanksgiving in 1972. In 1973, she was employed at Woodward & Lothrup. She made a lasting impression with many people at Woodies. Donna was promoted to Customer Service Manager, then she was Manager of Furniture, Domestics, Shoes and Dress departments through 2001.

The family moved from Columbia to Ellicott City, MD in 2004. Donna became a certified Interior Decorator. She was property stager of many residential listings for RE/Max Realty in Howard County. Donna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially in Bethany and Ocean View, Delaware where she also enjoyed her flowers and gardening.

Surviving are the "love of her life" Joe Vocke (LaSalle 1959), and her devoted daughters, Deborah L. Vocke of Charleston, SC, Diane S. (Vocke) Honeycutt (Bill) of Elkridge, MD, her grandchildren Mrs. Amanda (Moynihan) Stefany (Nick), and Mr. W. Michael Honeycutt. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Patrick Moynihan, and her dear friend Mary Jane Bauer.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents Florence, Walter, and Virginia Ensminger. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Valentine, Cathy (Dave) Huffman, and Susan Cathcart, as well as her nieces MaryBeth (Valentine) Jones, Sharon (Valentine) Kellerman, and nephew Collin Cathcart.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Elkridge, MD, at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Heart Association.
