Obituary for Dr. Ramesh Krishnaswamy
Dr. Ramesh Krishnaswamy, 73, of Columbia, MD, passed away on August 20, 2025. Born on July 10, 1952, in Kurumandur, Tamil Nadu, India, he dedicated his life to scholarship, family, and community.
He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Science from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, in 1981, completing a dissertation titled “Numerical Study of Laminar Compressible Boundary Layer Problems.” For this work, he was awarded the Martin J. Forster International Gold Medal in 1982. This award is given to only one recipient per year, specifically for the best Ph.D. thesis in the Division of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at IISc. Earlier, he completed his M.S. and B.S. in Mathematics at Madras University, where he was awarded top prizes for his proficiency.
On July 21, 1982, Dr. Krishnaswamy immigrated to the United States, where he built both a distinguished career and a loving home. He proudly served as the CEO and President of NetCom Data Corporation, and also as a respected DBA/DB2 consultant, where his expertise and guidance earned him admiration across the industry. He will be remembered for his brilliance, humility, and devotion to his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Pushpa, his loving children, Kavita, Rajesh, and Vicknesh, his caring brother, and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at MacNabb Funeral Home, 301 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228.
