Vaidyalinga Krishnaswamy

Vaidyalingam Krishnaswamy, 95, passed away on March 7, 2017, with his family by
his side in Arlington, Texas.

Vaidyalingam's life was defined by his boundless curiosity, intense
work ethic, gentle kindness and unwavering dedication to his faith and
family. He was born in Cherukunnam, Kerala, India on October 15,
1921, and graduated from Loyola College in Chennai in 1942. Following
graduation, he worked as the officer in charge of sales and
distribution for Bharat Petroleum for 33 years. Vaidyalingam married
Saroja in 1951 and they remained companions for the remainder of his
life.

Vaidyalingam's father passed away when he was only 16. As the eldest of 6
brothers, he assumed the responsibility of the head of the household,
and worked tirelessly to care for his mother and ensure that all his
brothers could graduate from university and pursue their life's goals.
Vaidyalingam had four children with Saroja and similarly ensured that
each graduated university and lived fulfilling lives in the United
States. Following his retirement, he moved to the United States with
Saroja in 1980 and became a United States citizen in 1985. He spent
the rest of life with Saroja, living with his children across the
country and caring for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Until his final days, Vaidyalingam maintained his sharp intellect and
desire to constantly learn. He was an avid reader, held well-informed
views on global current affairs and was a passionate sports fan. He
consistently exhibited tremendous discipline in his diet, fitness,
faith and relationships with friends and family. However, he
successfully balanced this rigor with patience and a warm sense of
humor. In this manner, he set an example for his entire family and
enriched the lives of all who knew him across the world.

Vaidyalingam is survived by his wife Saroja; 1 brother; 4 children and
their spouses, Kris Kumar, Raji Krishnan, Gita Narayan and Sundar
Krishnan; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 11, 2017 at Moore
Funeral Home, 1219 N Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas from 8:30 AM to
10:30 AM.

Donations in his honor may be sent to the Hindu Temple of Greater Ft. Worth
