Donna Ann Waterston

Donna Hockaday Waterston passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025 at the age of 83.
She shared 62 years of a full and loving marriage with her beloved husband, Jim Waterston, who encouraged her to see the world, embrace life, and seize the moment. She was a dedicated mother to her children: James Reed, Kathryn Paige, and Wesley Hugh.
After an early career teaching English and Social Studies to middle schoolers, Donna devoted herself to community service. Her priorities were education and advocating for the mentally disabled. She served as President of the parent organizations for the Grosse Pointe Public School and University Liggett School and was a board member of the Wildwood & Community Living Management Corporation. A strong supporter of continuing education for women, she was an active member of Chapters AO, BF, and FH of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Donna's greatest passion was her family. She especially cherished Christmastime surrounded by her grandchildren: Patrick James, Avery Ann, Maeve Erin, Blake Wesley, Whitney Claire, Justus, and Jasmine. She held a special place in her heart for her daughters-in-law, Carrie, Jessi, and Meegan.
Interment will take place at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan at a later date.
