Donna Whitlock

Donna Whitlock, age 79, of New Salem, Il. died early Saturday (April 1, 2023) at Barry Community Care Center.
She was born March 24, 1944 in New Salem Il. daughter of the late Ellis Wilson and Beulah Marie Holdren Spann.
She was married to George Whitlock for many years and to this union eight children were born.
Surviving are her children, Debra Booker of Pittsfield, Il., Norita Knowles of Baylis, Il., Teresa Lyons of Perry, Il., George E. Whitlock (Julie Newingham) of Pittsfield, Il., Doug Whitlock (Annette) of Milton, Il., Lori Riffey (Darin) of Baylis, Il., Regina Hecox of Bloomington, Il.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
She preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harley Whitlock; a grandson, Cory; sisters, Maxine Bartz, Bessie Martin, Carolina Cawthon, Marcella Hull, Florine "Dutch" Mulford; brothers, Wilbur Spann, Lyle Spann and Gary Spann.
Donna was a past employee of Brown Shoe Factory in Pittsfield and for ten years worked with her son George and his business partner Chris Wingler with their company Complete Asphalt Service Company in Pittsfield, Il. She loved boot kicking and loved doing that with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday (April 11, 2023) at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Il. Burial will be in Gray Cemetery in New Salem, Il. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to New Salem Town Hall and sent to Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, Box 513, Pittsfield, Il. 62363.
