Donna Allen Wright, third daughter of the late Minna Searcy Allen and Harry D.
Allen, Sr, was born on May 8, 1953 in Lexington, KY. On November 23, 2022, she
walked peacefully into God's outstretched arms.
Donna was baptized at the age of 10 at The Consolidated Baptist Church, and with
the exception of two brief periods, she attended regularly.
Donna is a graduate of Lafayette High School - class of 1971. She completed her
secondary education at Spalding University, Louisville, KY, with a Bachelor's of
Science in Nursing. She utilized her nursing education by working primarily with
mothers and infants before retiring from Fayette County Health Department as a
Community Health Nurse; a job she loved as it awarded her the opportunity to
teach mothers (old and new) how to feed and bond with their newborns and
provide support and guidance when needed.
On May 4, 1979, she was united in holy wedlock to Johnney L. Wright, Sr. and
from this union, one son was born, Eric D.L. Wright, Sr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnney L. Wright, Sr., her son, Eric D.L.
Wright, Sr., a sister, Linda A. Sheehee, and a brother, Harry D. Allen, Jr. She is
survived by her beloved sister, Lois A. (Eugene III) Carter, cherished close friend,
Michael Smith, adored nieces, Michelle (Paul) Durham and Mai (Vernon) Harvey,
her nephews David K. Campbell, Mike (Dana) Carter, Harry D. (Rebecca) Allen,
Adrian Allen; 2 grandchildren, Cadence J. Wright and Eric D.L. Wright, Jr, and a
host of other great nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
