Donna Karen Wynne, age 70, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Donna dedicated over 50 years of service as a civilian employee for the United States government, a career defined by her commitment to personal growth, professional achievement, and a drive to make the most of every opportunity. Her work took her around the world, including an incredible chapter in Germany from 2016 to 2023. During that time, she embraced the opportunity to travel extensively across Europe, creating memories filled with adventure, culture, and joy.
Donna was the beloved wife of Roy Wynne, devoted mother to Amanda Wettstein, and proud mother-in-law to Lars Wettstein. Her greatest joy came from being "Grammy" to her precious granddaughters, Susanna and Fiona Wettstein. Her eyes sparkled brightest when she was with them, and their laughter filled her heart with peace.
A woman of deep spirit and immense warmth, Donna found happiness in the simple pleasures of life – from attending live concerts and playing game night with loved ones to "Sunday Fundays" and spontaneous travel adventures. She lived her life with curiosity, kindness, and a fearless heart.
Those who knew Donna will remember her boundless love for her family, especially her granddaughters, and her incredible capacity to find joy in every corner of the world. Though her passing brings great sorrow, her loved ones find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain. Her light will never dim in the hearts of those she touched, and she will be deeply missed every day.
She lived a beautiful, adventurous life, and though we grieve her loss, we are endlessly grateful for the love she gave so freely. Her spirit will remain with us always.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 12 PM at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel in Camden, TN. Visitation with the family will begin at 11 AM.
