Ms. Donnetta Venise Ham, age 42, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina transitioned on May 22, 2025.
Donnetta Venise Ham, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at UNC Nash Hospital in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She was born on November 23, 1982, in Wilson, NC, at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
Donnetta was the cherished daughter of Donald and Veronica Ham and a devoted sister to Kevin Ham, Jacari Carter, and Kielana Ham. She is also lovingly remembered by her Godparents, Danny and Sandra Shackleford, who held a special place in her heart.
Donnetta proudly served her country in the United States Army, where she received an honorable discharge. After her service, she built a career in healthcare insurance and gas company logistics, where she was known for her reliability, professionalism, and kind spirit.
From a young age, Donnetta's life was guided by her deep Christian faith. She grew up attending Jericho City of Praise, where she was an active member of the church community, joyfully participating in praise dancing and lending her beautiful voice to the choir. Her spiritual foundation remained a source of strength throughout her life. Despite facing medical challenges, Donnetta lived with unwavering joy, courage, and a heart full of love. Her resilience was a testament to her faith and inner strength. She embraced life fully-cooking meals that brought comfort and togetherness, singing with passion, dancing with grace, and cherishing every moment spent with her family and friends.
Donnetta's light, laughter, and deep love for others will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Ms. Ham will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Word Tabernacle, 821 Word Plaza in Rocky Mount, North Carolina beginning at 11:00am.
These professional services have been entrusted to H.D. Pope Funeral Home located at 325 Nash Street in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
