Donnie C. Hagedorn, 85, of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025.
Born to Lonnie Hagedorn and Lucy (Hagedorn) Lewis, Donnie was a proud graduate of Morgantown High School. He spent much of his youth on the ballfield, where he found joy in playing baseball and basketball—sports that remained lifelong passions.
A skilled millwright by trade, Donnie worked with turbines and often shared stories of the intricate and challenging projects he tackled over the years.
Donnie was an avid outdoorsman and found peace in the quiet of the woods while hunting. He was also a devoted sports enthusiast and a fiercely loyal Mountaineers fan, cheering for WVU through every season with heart and pride.
He deeply loved his daughter, Julie A. Foster, whose passing left a lasting mark on his heart. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Ronnie L Hagedorn.
Donnie is survived by his grandchildren, Joshua Foster and Megan (Isaac) Cook; his son-in-law, Minter Foster; and two great-grandchildren who brought him great joy in his later years.
Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Donnie’s memory to a charity of your choice or to WVU Athletics, in honor of his enduring Mountaineer spirit.
