Donnie Lee Hart, 75, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Canton, Texas. Born on June 29, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas, Donnie lived a life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
A proud graduate of Diamond Hill High School's Class of 1968, Donnie went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. His six years of military service reflected his strong sense of duty and technical skill-qualities that would continue to define his professional and personal life.
Following his time in the military, Donnie embarked on a long and successful career with Union Pacific Railroad. As a conductor for over 30 years, he was known for his reliability and commitment to the job. His work ethic and steady presence left a lasting impression on colleagues throughout the rail industry.
Donnie shared more than five decades of marriage with his beloved wife, Rhenea Pardue Hart. The couple recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary-a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together they raised their daughter, Brandy Hart Black, who along with her husband Tim brought immense pride and joy into Donnie's life.
He was especially devoted to his granddaughters, Mackenzie Sherburn and Sadie Sherburn. Known for being generous and thoughtful with his "grand girls," Papa cherished every moment spent cheering them on as they excelled in their pursuits. Whether attending events or simply spending time together, he found great happiness in their accomplishments.
Donnie's zest for life extended beyond family. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing softball for many years. On the field, he wasn't just a teammate-he was one of the guys. His camaraderie and good-natured spirit made him a favorite among friends and fellow players alike.
He is also remembered fondly by his extended family: cousins, Linda Braziel, Susan Hart and Beverly Winnett and family; brother-in-laws Steve Pardue (and wife Anita) and Raymond Pardue (and wife Sissy); nieces Rhenea Morrow and Rachel Morrow; nephew Kennan Morrow; and a host of great-nieces and nephews who were touched by his warmth and humor.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Hart and mother, Mary Joe Edgerton; his brother Hughie Joe Hart; and sister-in-law Noelle Morrow.
Those who knew Donnie will remember him as loving, adventurous, thoughtful-and always fun to be around. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched with kindness and laughter.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
