Donovan M. Almanza, 25, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.
A gathering to celebrate D’s life will begin with visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. A time of sharing for family and friends will follow at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
Donovan Matthew Almanza was born September 15, 2000, in Moline, the son of Nora Almanza and Michael McClain. He was a skilled car detailer who truly enjoyed his job. He worked most recently at Courtesy Ford in Davenport, having also spent time at Smart Lexus of Quad Cities.
He found joy in the simple things – a baseball in his hand, a golf club in his grip, and time spent surrounding his family. He took great pride in being an uncle to his beautiful nieces, and he never missed an opportunity to spoil them.
Donovan was a young man full of light—vibrant, caring, and unforgettable. His kindness touched many, and his love for his family ran deep. Though our hearts ache at his loss, we take comfort in knowing his light will continue to shine through every memory shared and every life he touched.
Donovan is survived by his mother, Nora Almanza of Rock Island; his father, Michael McClain of East Moline; grandparents, Nora Sylvia and Rogelio Almanza of Rock Island, and Tammy Roth of East Moline; five brothers and a sister-in-law, Giovanni and Amanda Almanza of Rock Island, Adain Hoss of Moline, Zachary Hoss of Moline, Brice Hoss of Davenport, and Andrew Hoss of Rock Island; his beloved nieces, Amaya and Evelyn Almanza, and Wrenley Hoss; aunts and uncles, Sylvia Almanza, Claudia Blaser, Isabel (Pete) Pena, Stacey (Mark) Rensburger, Matthew McClain, Nick Roth, and Amanda Roth; as well as numerous cousins, friends, and a nephew on the way.
Donovan’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, who will forever hold him close. His time here was short, but the love he gave was immeasurable.
