DONOVAN L. DONOHOO SR.
BATAVIA - Donovan "Don" Lee Donohoo Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 12, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on December 23, 1936, Don was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Beverly A. (Thatcher) Donohoo.
Don was the cherished father of Doug (Rose), Donovan Jr. (Jadel), Denny, Duane (Missy), and Daren Donohoo. Proud grandfather of Erin, Leisha, Tyler, Alex, Brandi, the late Gina, Emily, Branden, Jordan H., Trenton, Tommy, David, Sydney, Delaney, and Jordan D.
Loving great-grandfather to Ethan, Gianna, Cooper, Everett, Hunter, Luke, Max, Hallie, Presley Belle, Harper, Nora, Mayzleigh, and Arthur.
Don was the son of the late Lawrence Donohoo and Mary (Remley) Donohoo, and the brother of Lawrence Donohoo (Carol) and Barbara Ann Sams (Ronald), and is also remembered by his beloved caregiver, Carol Weddle.
As the patriarch of his family, he was known for his commanding presence, sharp mind, and unwavering dedication to his family.
After graduating from Buford High School, Don proudly served in the U.S. Army, a period of his life he honored deeply and spoke of often. He later attended the University of Cincinnati, where he remained a lifelong dedicated fan, earning his degree in Accountancy, Class of 1960.
As a CPA and respected owner of D.L. Donohoo & Company, he began a legacy for many generations to come.
A man of strong character and service, Don was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner where he served as Potentate of the Shrine, and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court Number 7, roles he filled with honor, leadership, and dedication.
He was also a devoted founding member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, where he lived out his faith through service, fellowship, and quiet strength.
Don loved his family deeply and was happiest when surrounded by them. His presence was strong and unwavering. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 18th at 10 a.m., with services at 12 noon at Mt. Carmel Christian Church , followed by interment at Buford Cemetery in Sardinia, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
