Donovan Tramus Sparks, 51, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. A celebration of Donovan's life will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Gray Memorial Chapel. Family and friends are warmly invited to come share their memories. Donovan would want everyone to be comfortable, so please dress casually for this gathering.

Donovan was born on November 22, 1973, in the District of Columbia to the late Alan Burger. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Burger.

He is survived by his son, Kaidyn (Meryem) Sparks, and their daughter, Kenza; his mother, Connie (Roy) Johnson; his brother, Harry (Marie) Burger; his sister, Sandra Nagle; his step-siblings, David and Denise; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Donovan was funny, abrasively friendly, intelligent, adventurous, generous, optimistic, handy, creative, loving, genuine, and determined. He lived life with energy and passion, whether it was playing games, building something with his own hands, or finding ways to make others laugh.

While living in Omaha, Nebraska, Donovan became deeply involved in the card game Legend of the Five Rings. He played almost daily, regularly competing in tournaments, and was known not only for his skill but also for the laughter and friendship he brought to the gaming community.

Later, while living in Georgia and caring for his mother and stepfather, Donovan lifted their spirits every day. He built their home with his own hands, filled it with new technology and discoveries, and made sure there was always room for laughter, movies, and joy.

Above all, Donovan loved his family. He also loved pranking, being goofy, creating games, debating (and usually winning), and helping others whenever he could. He taught those around him to have fun, not worry too much, and to appreciate life's small moments.

What made Donovan laugh most was the reactions of others to his antics-the bigger the reaction, the harder he laughed. He will be remembered for how well he played his games, how well he made and built things, and most of all, how he made people feel: loved, seen, and always smiling.
