Ted Warren Jenkins, 82, of Gray, Georgia passed away at home on Friday, August 29, 2025 following an

extended illness. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 1 st followed by memorial service at

2:00 p.m. at Elam Baptist Church of Gray. Interment will immediately follow the service at Elam

Memorial Gardens.

Ted was born in Hiltonia, Georgia on January 15, 1943 to John James and Alabelle Amelia Forehand

Jenkins. He was a graduate of Screven County High school and attended Middle Georgia College before

beginning his impressive 38 year career at Norfolk Southern Railroad.

He was a longtime devoted member of Elam Baptist Church, serving in various roles. Before becoming

ill, he enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and was an avid Braves, Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Ted was father to three beautiful daughters, Marie, Marette, and Sara Elizabeth and especially enjoyed

family time with his three grandsons, Colin, Tyler, and Brennen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alabelle; siblings, Douglas Jenkins, Margene

Schenone, and Dan Jenkins; brother-in-law, Calvin Webb; and father-in-law, Ernest Webb. He is

survived by his wife of 46 years, Sylvia Webb Jenkins; daughters, Marie (Hugh) Reece, Marette (Lance)

Northcutt, and Sara Elizabeth (Michael) McGuire; and grandsons Tyler (Zoie) Northcutt, Colin Reece and

Brennen Northcutt; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sara) Webb; sister-in-law, Alma Webb; and mother-in-law,

Helen Thrasher.

Ted's journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and unwavering faith in God. His

passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by

him. We ask that you remember him for the way he lived his life, and for the profound impact he had

on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Elam Baptist Church Building Fund.
