Dora Lucille Hester Thomas, age 81, of Tollesboro, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Monday, November 22, 1943, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late C.W. and Alma Genevive Arthurs Hester.

She enjoyed working in her yard, washing her car, cleaning house and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Gary Lee Thomas; three brothers, Douglas Hester, Charles Hester and Harry Hester and one sister, Inez Williamson.

Dora is survived by two sons, Terry Ray (Terri Lynn) Thomas, Lee Thomas all of Tollesboro, Kentucky; one sister, Brenda Lykins of Vanceburg, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Bridget (Jason) Hazelrigg, Nicholas Thomas, Allison Thomas; two great-grandchildren, RaeLee Love and Brady Love, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 Ky 57, Tollesboro, Kentucky, with Brother Layne Wagner and Brother Johnny Byard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, Kentucky.

Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2025, until the service hour at Tollesboro Funeral Home.

Brady Love, Brad Williamson, Greg Williamson, Shane Lykins, Shannon Lykins and Nicholas Thomas will serve as pallbearers.

Bridget Hazelrigg, RaeLee Love and Allison Thomas will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Tollesboro Funeral Home is honored to serve the famiy of Dora Lucille Hester Thomas.
