Doreen Annette Gorlin, 98, of Indio, California, passed away peacefully at her home on September 29, 2025. Doreen was born in 1926 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, to Ida and Abraham Davids. She was especially close to her two brothers and one sister. After graduating from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, she went on to attend the University of British Columbia, where she qualified as a registered dietitian. Doreen moved to Los Angeles, California and, in 1953, married Leonard Gorlin. Doreen and Len raised their children and led active lives in Monterey Park (Los Angeles County) and El Toro (Orange County). Doreen was a full-time mother while her kids were young, then worked as a dietitian as the kids became more independent. Doreen and Len enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and good friends. They maintained a second home in Rancho Mirage beginning in the late 1970s and moved there in the 1980s. Doreen's retirement years were filled with tennis, card games, ushering at the McCallum Theater and Indian Wells tennis tournament, and volunteering with various organizations throughout the Coachella Valley. She was a loving mother who put her family first and never hesitated to help those in need. Doreen was preceded in death by her husband, Len; her brothers, David and Hymie Davids; and her sister, Evelyn Davids. She is survived by her children, Daniel, Lawrence, Robert, and Jessica (Gorlin Liddell); her grandchildren, Scott Gorlin, Tom Gorlin, Jeanne Krick, Becky Gorlin, Eric Gorlin, Jack Gorlin, and Maya Liddell; and four great-grandchildren, of whom she was very proud. A celebration of Doreen's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to City of Hope Cancer Research or the Hospice Foundation of America (), which supports hospice patients and their families. "As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us, as we remember them."
