Doreen Anne Martin

 

Doreen Anne Martin was born to the late Robert and Queenie Cowley on August 22, 1944. She departed this earthly life in the early hours of Thursday, September 14, 2023.   Doreen was born in Liverpool, England and retained a deep love for all things Liverpudlian and English. This showed in her love for the British Royal Family and her appreciation of all things to do with the city of Liverpool. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Martin on June 23, 1962 and remained a steadfast partner to him for 61 years. Together they raised 7 children, whom they are very proud of. They were also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.    Doreen was fiercely loyal to her family and friends and was a formidable opponent to anyone who broke her trust. She was a passionate advocate for her children and grandchildren and had recently become a Great Grandmother.    Doreen leaves to join two of her children who predeceased her along with her parents, her brother Arthur, several Aunts and Uncles along with several brother and sisters in law. She is survived by her husband Jim, her children Jim (Tami) Martin, Bill Martin, Susan Yates, Lee (Katrina) Martin, and Brian Martin, her 12 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Cathy Cowley and brother Billy Cowley, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a brother and sister in law.
